iRecruit4 are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a specialist healthcare and medical consumables manufacturer in Swindon. The company operates in a highly regulated environment where quality, compliance, and efficiency are critical.The Maintenance Engineer will maintain, repair, and improve production equipment and machinery. We are looking for someone with a strong 50/50 electrical and mechanical background who works independently, takes ownership, and proactively supports production to enhance equipment performance and site efficiency.This is a highly autonomous role within a small team, so the successful candidate must integrate quickly, confidently engage with operators, and independently manage maintenance and continuous improvement activities.Salary & Benefits for Maintenance Engineer:45,000 50,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)Competitive payDay shift hoursMonday to FridayPermanent roleOpportunity to influence real operational improvementsAll the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.Key Responsibilities for Maintenance Engineer:Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairsIdentify opportunities for improvement across equipment and processesPreventative and reactive maintenance on production machineryReduce downtime and improve operational efficiencySupport production teams with technical expertiseEngage with operators to identify improvement opportunitiesEnsure compliance within a regulated manufacturing environmentWork independently while knowing when to seek supportManage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, spares, and documentationContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and safety cultureRequirements for Maintenance Engineer:18th Edition qualification and IOSH certificationDemonstrated experience creating and managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedulesExperience with PLC installation, commissioning, and fault findingExperience xjdpvnf working with industrial robots, including Kuka RoboticsUnderstanding of Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR)Experience with automated production or material processing equipment and industrial control systems (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, Profinet/ProfiSafe, Sick Safety PLCsDesirable (Not Essential):Experience with heat weldingExperience with radio frequency (RF) weldingExperience working in an autonomous environment but knowing when to ask for support when neededIf this role sounds like the right fit for you, please click apply today or contact and ask to speak with Shannon.
