Together, were building a better future.As a Gas and Heating Installation Technician, youll play a vital role in ensuring our customers homes are safe, warm and energy-efficient. Youll carry out full and partial installations, breakdown repairs and servicing to a high standard, working independently and in line with all relevant regulations, codes of practice and Paradigm procedures. This is a hands-on, customer-focused role where your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will make a real impact.About the Role/teamYoull be part of our Property Services team, reporting to the Gas Installation Supervisor, and working closely with residents, colleagues and other technicians. Youll diagnose and repair a wide range of gas and heating faults, aiming for a first-time fix wherever possible. Youll also complete all required documentation accurately and on time, maintain van stock, and ensure all work is carried out safely and professionally.This role also involves supporting apprentices or less experienced technicians when required, helping to build capability across the team. Youll be trusted to work independently, make informed decisions and deliver high-quality work that meets regulatory standards and customer expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out full and partial gas and heating installations, breakdown repairs and servicingDiagnose and repair faults across a wide range of gas appliances and heating systemsAim for a 95% first-time fix rate and keep recall rates lowComplete all documentation, including certificates, accurately and promptlyWork professionally and courteously, upholding customer care standardsComply with all health and safety legislation, risk assessments and method statementsReport unsafe working methods, installations or equipmentCommunicate effectively with tenants and colleagues, demonstrating a duty of careUse materials and equipment safely and efficiently, minimising wasteMaintain van stock levels and follow procedures for business assets (vehicles, PPE, ID, devices)Mentor or support apprentices and other technicians when requiredPurchase materials as needed to complete worksContribute to team problem-solving and continuous improvementWhat Were Looking ForMust haves:Significant experience in domestic gas and heating installationsUnderstanding of building structures to complete installations safelyGeneral building knowledge to make good after worksExperience flushing heating systemsACS Gas Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1Logical, methodical approach to problem-solving and fault-findingStrong knowledge of relevant legislation, building regulations and health & safetyAbility to make informed decisions using your own initiativeGood literacy and numeracyFull valid UK driving licenceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamClear and effective communication skillsCommitment to excellent customer serviceWillingness to join the on-call rota for out-of-hours workStrong time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlinesNice to haves:Unvented G3 qualificationExperience with commercial heating systemsClean driving licenceExperience with Renewable Energies such as Air Source Heat PumpsFor added brilliance:A proactive, solutions-focused mindsetConfidence working independently in customers homesPride in delivering high-quality workmanshipA commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvementBenefitsAt SettleParadigm, we believe in creating an environment where our people feel valued, supported and inspired to grow.
