We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.What we can offer you25 days of annual leave plus bank holidaysAccess to our company/people's pension schemeDiscounts on everything from groceries to well known retailersAccess to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to24 hour access to a virtual GP, 365 days a year, for you and family members in your householdOne paid days leave every year to volunteer and support your communityOngoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potentialWhat you'll be doingList, package and label hazardous waste streams at customer sites across the Southern UK regionAssess drums and their contents at customer premises to determine appropriate handling and classificationCollect wastes from customer sites and ensure safe transportation in 3.5t Luton vans in accordance with road transport and hazardous waste regulationsUse IT systems to generate transport documents, reference safety data sheets and generate quotes when requiredPump, decant and re‐drum rusty or leaking containers safelySample various waste streams, predominantly hazardous waste, for classification purposesPrint and complete labels and ensure accurate completion of all documentation to meet customer expectationsAssess new customer inquiries and provide technical knowledge to customers and colleaguesAssist with chemist duties in the Hazardous Waste Transfer Station when neededAssist with spillage clearance if requiredMaintain adequate stock levels of routine suppliesProvide basic mentoring to new starters when suitably experiencedFoster good customer relationships and comply with all customer site rulesWhat we're looking forMinimum A‐Level Chemistry or a degree/HNC in Chemistry or relevant scientific qualification (essential)Valid UK driving licence (essential)Good interpersonal skills for dealing with customers professionallyHigh level of literacy and numeracy for accurate documentationKnowledge of environmental legislation (desirable)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamProblem‐solving skills with ability to find solutions independentlyEnthusiastic, willing to learn and adaptableFlexible with daily working hours as jobs may occasionally finish lateCompliance‐focused mindset with commitment to Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and COSHH regulationsADR Licence, Forklift Truck Licence and First Aid qualifications desirable (training provided if not held)Mobile role – must be comfortable working at various customer sites across the Southern regionWhat's next?Apply today, so we can make a difference for generations to come.We're proud to have been named as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for three consecutive years in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
