Senior Estimator Chatham, Kent (with projects across London) Full-Time | Permanent Up to 75,000 (DOE) The Opportunity Hill McGlynn is partnering with a well-established main contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team based in Chatham. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of major tenders and contribute to securing a strong pipeline of projects across London and the South East. You will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction team, leading on complex bids and providing commercial insight to support strategic growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for a range of construction projects Manage the full tender lifecycle from initial enquiry through to final submission Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive and compliant quotations Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions Support and mentor junior estimators within the team Work closely with commercial, design, and operational teams to ensure cohesive bid strategies Attend client meetings and contribute to presentations where required About You Proven experience in a Senior Estimator or experienced Estimator role within the construction sector Strong track record across new build, fit out, refurbishment, and/or cut & carve projects (highly desirable) Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office What''s on Offer Competitive salary up to 75,000 depending on experience Opportunity to join a respected and growing contractor Involvement in a diverse portfolio of projects across London Career progression and the chance to influence business success Supportive and collaborative working environment If you''re a Senior Estimator looking to take the lead on high-value tenders and join a forward-thinking contractor, Hill McGlynn would be keen to speak with you.
