Welfare Officer Location: Sydenham Department: Social Work and Welfare Tenure/Hours: 18 hours per week Salary: for 18 hours per week 16,425.5-17,013.5 We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate welfare officer to join our multi-disciplinary team. This is an opportunity for you to make a meaningful difference to the lives of patients and families accessing palliative care, by ensuring their financial rightsare upheld and that best possible outcomes are achieved in context their economic wellbeing. In this role, you will develop trusted relationships with individuals using our services, identify any unmet financial needs and provide high-quality welfare benefits advice to help maximise their income. You will also offer advice and guidance on a range of related social welfare issues. About You: To succeed in this role, you will bring: Substantial experience in a social welfare or related setting Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex financial situations A strong understanding of the financial impact of long-term illness and palliative care on individuals and families In-depth knowledge of welfare rights and entitlements in the UK for disabled individuals and their carers Confidence in working with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies to advocate for and maximise patients income A flexible, creative and proactive approach, with a commitment to continuous learning and developmentboth individually and as part of a team Closing Date: 26th April 2026 Interview Date: TBC TPBN1_UKTJ
