Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry - BeverlyBeverly, YorkshireJob Title: Consultant in Forensic PsychiatryGrade: ConsultantLocation: Beverley, East YorkshireWorking Hours: 40 hours per weekRate: Competitive — details to be discussed upon applicationWe are seeking a highly skilled and committed Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry to join our NHS client in Beverley, Yorkshire. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work within a secure and supportive environment, providing expert psychiatric care to individuals within the criminal justice system and those with complex mental health needs.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical leadership and psychiatric care within a forensic inpatient setting.Act as anApproved Clinicianand holdSection 12 approvalunder the Mental Health Act.Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and treatment planning for patients with complex forensic and mental health needs.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, legal professionals, and external agencies to ensure safe and effective care pathways.Contribute to Mental Health Review Tribunals, court reports, and legal proceedings as required.Supervise junior doctors and contribute to their training and development.Participate in clinical governance, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.Qualifications & ExperienceFull GMC registration with a licence to practiseInclusion on the Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT)MRCPsych or equivalent qualificationSection 12 approvalandApproved Clinicianstatus under the Mental Health ActExtensive experience in forensic psychiatry and secure mental health servicesStrong leadership, risk management, and communication skillsHow to ApplyIf your experience aligns with this role, apply today!
