Consultant Gastroenterologist Locations: Portsmouth & BristolSalary: £120,000 - £160,000Type: PermanentPositions Available: 2About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a multidisciplinary medical team within modern, well-equipped Surgical Centres in Portsmouth and Bristol. This role offers the chance to contribute your expertise in Gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures within a supportive, well-structured, and patient-focused environment.You will play a key role in delivering high-quality gastrointestinal services, ensuring patients receive timely treatment in clean, comfortable surroundings. The centres provide day-case treatments across a wide range of specialties and are committed to maintaining excellent clinical standards.The endoscopy units include two procedure rooms—one purpose-built and one adapted operating theatre—equipped with both Olympus and Fujinon endoscopy systems.Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed.Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Surgical Centre Medical Director, you will:Lead and manage a multidisciplinary clinical teamPerform a range of endoscopic proceduresDeliver gastroscopy and colonoscopy services for NHS and private patientsProvide day-case endoscopy procedures, primarily under local anaesthesia with or without sedationContribute to maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical excellenceApplicants are encouraged to include in their CVMotivation for applyingRelevant experience from the past 3 yearsNumber of procedures performedOutcomes data (where available, e.g. national databases)RequirementsFull GMC registrationEvidence of subspecialty training in GastroenterologySignificant experience in managing upper and lower gastrointestinal conditionsAbility to provide expert clinical opinions in elective gastroenterologyStrong experience within a specialist departmentAccreditation with BUPA is desirable; support will be provided to obtain this if not already held.About the EnvironmentHigh standards of hygiene and safetyEfficient and timely patient careDelivering excellent clinical outcomesCreating a positive patient experienceAdditional InformationApplications will be reviewed on a rolling basisThe vacancy may close early if a suitable candidate is identifiedOffers are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checksApplicants must have the right to work in the UKEqual opportunities and diversity are actively promoted#J-18808-Ljbffr
