Main duties of the jobManageable workload: Youll see around 25 patients per day in 15‐minute appointments, allowing time to deliver safe, high‐quality care without feeling rushed.Low visit demand & compact geography: Our patient population is geographically close to the surgery, reducing travel time and improving work‐life balance.Job responsibilitiesJob title: Salaried GPLine manager: Practice ManagerAccountable to: The Partners (clinically), Practice Manager (administratively)Job summary: To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post‐holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, and maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.Key Responsibilities1. Primary ResponsibilitiesThe following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be on occasion a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationThe provision of services commensurate with the GMS contractGeneric prescribing adhering to local and national guidanceEffective management of long‐term conditionsProcessing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, lab reports, workflow documents, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasksAny private work done during the working day (e.g., PMAs, medical reports) will be carried as part of normal duties and all fees received for such will remain the property of the practiceIn accordance with the practice timetable, the post‐holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, video consultations, telephone consultations and queries, covering urgent care duties and visiting patients at homeMaintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidanceWorking collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workloadAdhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit processContribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practiceAccept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOFAttend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as requiredContribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HREnsure compliance with the appraisal processPrepare and complete the revalidation processCommit to self‐learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice teamSupport the training of medical students from all clinical disciplinesSupport the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditureReview and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all timesEncourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all timesIn general, the post‐holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care2. Secondary ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit leadParticipate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient careParticipate in the review of significant and near‐miss events applying a structured approach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)3.
