Job Description

We are seeking a motivated salaried General Practitioner (GP) with an interest in Urgent Care to join our team working across the Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) in Cumbria. The post holder will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, safe, and patient‐centred urgent care to our local communities.As a salaried GP in Urgent Care, the post holder will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including advanced clinical practitioners, nurses and healthcare support staff, to deliver safe, high‐quality, patient‐centred care for a broad range of urgent but non‐life‐threatening conditions.The post holder will be responsible, along with the multidisciplinary clinical team, for the delivery of urgent care within the North Cumbria Urgent Treatment Centres, and will actively join in teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students, and in audit activity.The post holder's clinical expertise and leadership will ensure patients receive timely assessment, treatment and clear onward care pathways, supporting safe and effective urgent care delivery.Main duties of the jobProvide expert clinical care across our Urgent Treatment Centres, supporting safe and effective urgent care delivery.Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.Play an active role in the wider unplanned care programme, including departmental meetings, multidisciplinary discussions, teaching sessions and audit reviews.Take part in audit and quality improvement activity, supporting evidence‐based practice and service development.There will also be the opportunity to actively contribute to the teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students and trainee advanced practitioners.About usAt NCIC, we have an ambition to deliver outstanding healthcare services to the population of North Cumbria.
