Consultant in GastroenterologyApplicants are invited for the post of Consultant in Gastroenterology to join the existing Gastroenterology Team at the University Hospitals of Derby & Burton. We are looking to develop our specialist GI services by appointing Consultants in Gastroenterology. The successful applicant will support in the delivery of high quality, timely endoscopy care, out‐patient clinics and inpatient care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide consultant‐level clinical care across UHDB sites including QHB and SRP.Deliver endoscopy services within a modern 3‐room and 2‐room endoscopy suite, carrying out over 9,500 procedures annually.Lead review of new referrals and provide ward cover with a week system schedule, cancelling elective activity to allow full ward cover.Participate in national bowel cancer screening programme and other clinical activities across the Trust.Support nursing and dietitian teams on gastrointestinal and liver disorders, including IBD, nutrition, GI cancer and therapeutic endoscopy.Maintain clinical governance and uphold JAG accreditation standards.Qualifications & ExperienceStRs acquiring CCT or established consultants looking to subspecialise within a large department.Experience in Luminal and Hepatology services across multiple wards.Proficiency in endoscopy procedures such as colonoscopy, large polyp EMR and PEG's.Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and across multiple sites.Benefits and EEO StatementsWe offer development opportunities, leadership development, support from recruitment to beyond, staff benefits including employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership, onsite fitness classes, and car schemes.
