The post is based primarily at the Eye Centre at Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals and includes outreach clinics in Poole. ResponsibilitiesPrincipal interest in glaucoma and delivering glaucoma services, including trabeculectomies, tube surgeries (Baerveldt, Ahmed, MIGS), modern glaucoma laser procedures (SLT, cyclodiode, endoscopic diode) and expansion of the service. Contribute to cataract and appropriate eye emergency services. Teach and support junior doctors, optometrists, orthoptists, nurse specialists, and technician specialists. Participate in clinical audit and governance. Undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team. Engage in clinical research where desired.QualificationsAlready on the GMC specialist register or within six months of interview date have a certificate of completion of specialist training.
