The Head of Economic and Social Analysis is an analytical professional, within the Policy Directorate, who is responsible for taking ownership analysis that supports the DVSA’s policy and operational delivery work. They will be responsible for building and leading a community of badged analytical professionals and be supported by the sponsorship team in the Department of Transport and its wider analytical community. The role holder will provide influence amongst the leadership team by cutting across a breadth of topics, providing cutting‑edge insights and building analytical capability in the organisation. ResponsibilitiesBuild the DVSA’s forecasting capabilities, ensuring that macroeconomic and broader social trends are fully understood and incorporated into the organisation’s planning and decision‑making. Manage and plan a portfolio of work which ranges from Impact Assessments / De Minimis Assessments (DMAs) and Post Implementation Reviews; to advisory roles, or lighter‑touch, creative analysis. Develop and promote a culture of continuous improvement and continuous professional development to ensure delivery of a quality service to our customers. Execute management responsibilities effectively, working with, leading and acting as a role model for team members and colleagues. Work in collaboration with fellow CSLs across all functions for the good of DVSA and to create a high‑performing and well‑respected Agency. Lead a programme of analysis to support the DVSA’s strategy and policy and operational delivery programme, impacting on strategic direction, Ministerial decisions and influencing key stakeholders.Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need.We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public. #J-18808-Ljbffr
