Job Description

CNC Machinist (Contract) Location: Keighley (West Yorkshire) Contract Length: 6 months Hours: 37 hours per week Shifts: Days, earlies, lates, and nights (flexibility required) Rates: 30.00 35.00 per hour (depending on experience) Overtime: Time and a half A leading global engineering company is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their specialist manufacturing team on a 6-month contract. Key Responsibilities Operate CNC cylindrical grinding machines (Studer) Program, set, and prove out components using Studer Win systems Work with Siemens 850D controls (Fanuc experience also considered) Manufacture precision components to extremely tight tolerances Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings Use metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and product conformity Work on small to medium cylindrical components (up to 500kg) and large cubic parts Contribute across the full manufacturing lifecycle, from design through to delivery Plan workload effectively and work with minimal supervision Candidate Requirements Essential: Apprentice-trained machinist Strong background in high-precision machining Experience working to very tight tolerances Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings Experience with CNC machining and grinding processes Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to bespoke work Desirable: Experience with Siemens 850D or Fanuc controls Background in aerospace or other high-tolerance industries Experience with cylindrical grinding (Studer machines) Experience working on one-off or low-volume bespoke components ATA is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer.
