Interim Financial Controller - Engineering Location: Knowsley (5 days office-based) Duration: 6 months Day rate / Salary equivalent: Up to 65,000 (FTC equivalent) An established engineering business in Knowsley is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to support the finance function during a key delivery period. The business operates across multiple large-scale, contract-led projects and requires a hands-on finance lead with strong experience in cash flow, WIP and contract performance . This is a fully office-based role (5 days per week) and would suit a commercially minded Financial Controller or senior Finance Manager with experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing or project-based environments. Key Responsibilities Full ownership of cash flow forecasting, monitoring and reporting , with a strong focus on liquidity and contract cash profiles Management and review of Work in Progress (WIP) , including accurate cost-to-complete assessments and margin recognition Oversight of contract financial performance , working closely with project and operational teams Bad debt analysis and credit control oversight , including proactive identification and mitigation of risk Production of monthly management accounts , including commentary for senior stakeholders Balance sheet control, reconciliations and integrity across key accounts Support budgeting, forecasting and short-term financial planning Act as a key finance business partner to operations, contracts and commercial teams Candidate Profile Proven experience operating as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager in a contract-led or project-based business Strong background in engineering, construction, manufacturing or similar sectors Confident managing WIP, cash flow and contract accounting Hands-on, detail-oriented and comfortable working at pace Immediately available or short notice preferred The Offer 6-month interim assignment Salary equivalent up to 65,000 Knowsley-based role - 5 days office-based Opportunity to play a key role in a business delivering large, complex contracts TPBN1_UKTJ
