HGV Class 1 Driver East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based at East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire . This position will suit an applicant looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver. Shifts Monday Friday Start times between 04:00 and 16:00 Rates of Pay 06:00 18:00: 16.66 per hour 18:00 06:00: 20.82 per hour Benefits As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will receive: Weekly pay Ongoing, long-term work Permanent opportunities available for the right candidates On-site canteen facilities Secure on-site parking Overtime available Modern 23-plate vehicles 33 days holiday once permanent (aligned with factory shutdowns) Excellent pay rates On-site mental health first aiders Day-to-Day Duties As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to): Safely operating Category C+E vehicles, completing 35 trunk runs per day Operating curtain-sider trailers and securing all loads correctly, including awkward loads Making timely deliveries to various destinations Communicating effectively with the transport team Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations Ensuring full compliance with driving laws and working time directives Essential Skills As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need: Valid UK Category C+E Licence Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card Minimum of six months' continuous experience driving Class 1 vehicles No more than six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsements) Excellent communication and time management skills Professional and reliable attitude Desirable Experience Experience securing and strapping abnormal loads Experience manoeuvring in tight delivery depots Training Provided Driving assessment required prior to start Three-day paid company induction programme Full industry-related training and ongoing support Apply If you are a skilled HGV Class 1 Driver looking to take on this opportunity, apply today or contact our recruitment team for more information.
