About The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi‑disciplinary medical team. You will be a highly valued member, bringing your expertise and skills in gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures to provide high‑quality gastrointestinal service for the Portsmouth population in a clean and modern surgical centre. The centre offers a well‑structured and relaxed environment, two endoscopy rooms (one purpose built and one adapted), and operates with both Olympus and Fujinon endoscope systems. What You’ll Be Doing Reporting to the Surgical Centre Medical Director, you will manage and lead a multi‑professional team and perform a range of endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy day‑case services for referred NHS and private patients. Procedure work will be carried out principally under local anaesthesia with or without sedation. What We’ll Look For In You Full GMC registration and evidence of subspecialty training. Experience working in a specialist department treating upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions and the ability to offer an expert opinion on a range of elective gastroenterology problems. Substantial experience in the speciality is required. Additional Information Both full‑time and part‑time hours will be considered for this role. In time, consultants will be guided through the process to achieve accreditation with BUPA; applicants already accredited are encouraged to highlight this in their application.
