Your new companyFind out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered.We are currently recruiting for a Complex Needs Support Worker to provide short-term cover within a homelessness prevention service in Plymouth. This service delivers intensive, person-centred support to individuals with complex needs living in supported accommodation across multiple shared houses.You will work on an outreach basis, providing one-to-one support and case management to help people stabilise their situations and move towards greater independence. The service operates using trauma-informed practice and Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) principles.Your new rolePrioritise immediate customer needs and effectively manage riskProvide intensive, personalised support and robust case managementSupport customers to engage in recovery-focused support planningEnable access to benefits, funding, and specialist external servicesBuild and maintain professional relationships with partner agenciesPromote independence and sustain tenanciesMaintain accurate case notes, records, and support plansWork collaboratively as part of a wider support teamWhat you'll need to succeedExperience in homelessness, supported housing, mental health, substance misuse, or related services (desirable but not essential)A strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries (or willingness to learn)A resilient, calm, and pragmatic approach to challenging situationsEmpathy, patience, and a non-judgemental attitudeExcellent communication, listening, and engagement skillsGood organisation, IT, and written skillsSelf-motivated, proactive, and solution-focusedAbility to travel between multiple locations across Plymouth (full driving licence required)SafeguardingSafeguarding children and adults is a priority.
