Metallurgy & Process Specialist Cheshire Competitive Salary + Benefits The Role We're currently working with a specialist manufacturer of advanced metallic materials and engineered alloys used in high-performance industrial applications. This is a Metallurgy & Process Specialist role focused on optimising metallurgical production processes, supporting materials performance, and driving continuous improvement across a technically complex manufacturing environment. They are seeking someone with a strong grounding in metals, materials science, or process metallurgy to support day-to-day production activities while also contributing to process development, quality improvement, and yield optimisation initiatives. This is a hands-on, technically varied position bridging production support, materials understanding, and process engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Support the manufacture and processing of advanced metallic materials and engineered alloys Monitor and optimise metallurgical processes to improve yield, consistency, and product quality Investigate material behaviour, process deviations, and non-conformances using structured root cause analysis Support melting, casting, forming, heat treatment, and finishing operations (where applicable) Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across production and materials processes Assist with introduction of new alloys, products, and process routes into manufacturing Analyse production and materials data to identify trends, variation, and improvement opportunities Maintain accurate technical documentation, including material specifications and process parameters Support trials, process validation, and development work for new and existing products Work closely with Quality, Production, and Technical teams to meet customer and specification requirements Ensure compliance with all quality, health, safety, and environmental standards About You Degree qualified in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline Experience in metals manufacturing, advanced materials, foundry, forging, heat treatment, or similar process environments Strong understanding of metallic materials, microstructures, and manufacturing behaviour Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and root cause investigation skills Experience of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies (desirable) Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally Why Apply?
