Field Service Test EngineerThe full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Field Service Test Engineer to join our innovative client based in Kingswinford, West Midlands, on a full-time, permanent basis.This is a fantastic opportunity to work with highly technical friction welding machines, offering excellent career progression, hands-on experience, and international travel opportunities.Working times: Monday to Friday: 8am - 5pm (39 hours per week, with occasional weekend work) Salary: 32,000 42,000 per annum (depending on experience; exceptional experience may expand this range) Benefits include:Your benefits as a Field Service Test Engineer will be: Company pension schemeFree on-site parkingLong-term permanent opportunity with career developmentAttendance and performance-based bonusesOpportunities for international travel and hands-on technical experience Day-to-day duties:As a Field Service Test Engineer, your duties will include (but are not limited to): Building and servicing friction welding machines at the Kingswinford facilityTroubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical equipment at customer sitesReading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsWorking with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and multi-axis servo-hydraulic systemsRepairing motor control centres, electrical motors, PLCs (Allen Bradley / Siemens / Rockwell) and VFDsMinor robot repair and programming tasksPreparing and maintaining professional technical documentationCollaborating with team members to solve complex technical issuesProviding professional and effective customer serviceOccasional weekend workOn call work with prior notice (candidates will not receive customer calls during off hours)Overtime when required, particularly when onsite at customer facilities Essential skills:To be successful as a Field Service Test Engineer, you will need: Proven mechanical and electrical experience, including troubleshooting of electromechanical systemsStrong blueprint and schematic reading skillsExperience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell) and VFDsKnowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and servo control systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProfessional approach to customer serviceFlexibility to travel internationallyWillingness to work onsite when not servicing customersResidence within 40 minutes of Kingswinford Desirable experience: Experience with friction welding machines or similar high-precision industrial equipmentFamiliarity with robotic repair and programmingHands-on experience with complex technical systems and commissioning Training: Full industry-related training will be provided, with ongoing support throughout your career.
