ResponsibilitiesProvide input into the care, treatment, and risk management of patients.Agree on care pathways, organise admissions, and plan safe discharges.Act as part of a gatekeeping service for secure beds for patients with mental illness.Conduct risk assessments and manage identified risks.Liaise carefully with other agencies, including local authority personnel, independent sector services, service users, and carers.Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our service. The post holder will have proven clinical and leadership skills and be able to manage complex forensic patients in outpatient settings. They will join the medical team within Fromeside Medium Secure Unit, acting as responsible clinician for Kennet Ward, a male rehabilitation ward, and will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will also be expected to provide clinical leadership within the wider service.QualificationsFull GMC registration.Ideally a CCT in Forensic Psychiatry or experience working within an inpatient setting.Experience in managing complex forensic patients in outpatient settings.Additional Information Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is not currently a sponsor under the GMC Sponsorship Scheme.
