The role will focus on the testing, commissioning and energisation of high-voltage electrical systems on projects including BESS, renewables, grid connections, substations and wider power infrastructure.You will play a key role at the construction-to-commissioning interface, ensuring systems are delivered safely, compliantly and ready for operational handover.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out HV commissioning activities in line with project specifications, standards and proceduresSupport energisation, testing and validation of HV/MV equipment including switchgear, transformers, protection systems and substationsPrepare, review and execute commissioning procedures, test plans and method statementsInterface closely with construction, QA/QC, commissioning and client teams to ensure readiness for energisationSupport system handover, documentation sign-off and commissioning recordsEnsure all activities comply with UK safety rules, permits to work and isolation proceduresIdentify and resolve commissioning issues, escalating risks or constraints where requiredParticipate in site walkdowns, punch-list close-out and commissioning readiness reviewsMaintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance at all timesSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience as an HV xjdpvnf Commissioning Engineer on power or energy projectsStrong background in HV/MV systems, substations or grid-connected infrastructureExperience working on energy transition projects such as BESS, renewables, grid reinforcement or power generationSolid understanding of commissioning, testing, energisation and handover processesFamiliarity with UK electrical safety rules, permits and isolation proceduresAbility to work independently on site and coordinate with multiple stakeholdersStrong communication and reporting skills
