You will benefit from a modern, clean and cutting edge technology environment, backed by a great and supportive team where you will have scope to learn, progress and develop your career.Main Purpose:Program, set and operate Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM), Makino wire machines in line with engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality, accurate components are produced safely and efficiently.Key Responsibilities:Program, set and operate wire erosion in line with engineering drawings and specificationsInterpret engineering drawings (metric and imperial) and work to tight tolerancesDownload, prove out and optimise CNC/EDM programsSet up tooling, fixtures and workpieces correctlyInspect components (first-off and in-process) to ensure quality standardsAdjust machine parameters and offsets to maintain accuracyCarry out routine machine maintenance and ensure consumables are stockedSupport tooling, prototype and development workMaintain production records and follow quality and safety proceduresSkills & Qualifications/Experience:Time-served engineer or equivalent experience within a precision engineering environmentProven experience in wire erosion and/or spark erosion, including programming and operating EDM Makino machineryStrong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and working to tight tolerances on precision componentsSolid knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, materials, and inspection methodsFamiliar with NADCAP requirementsGood awareness of quality standards and health 'safety regulations within a manufacturing environmentStrong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, right-first-timeworkMethodical and disciplined approach, with the ability to follow processes while also thinking practicallyStrong problem-solving and fault-finding ability, with a hands-on engineering mindsetAbility to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and manage workload effectivelyGood communication skills and ability to collaborate across production, quality, and engineering teamsFlexible and adaptable in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentProactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiencyPersonal Attributes:Detail-oriented with a strong focus on qualityProactive and able to work independentlyMethodical and organised approach to workReliable, dependable, and professionalPositive attitude and team-focusedIf this role sounds of interest, please apply now and send your most up to date CV to Vicky at TechNichols Resourcing to be considered.
