Job ResponsibilitiesMaintain, repair, and calibrate a wide range of tools and equipment within the tool room to ensure optimal operational readiness.Assist in the design and fabrication of new tools and fixtures as required for production processes.Ensure all tools and machinery are compliant with health and safety regulations and company standards.Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance, repairs, and calibration activities.Collaborate with production teams to understand tool requirements and provide technical support.Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of tools and equipment to identify issues proactively.Assist in the inventory management of tools and spare parts, ensuring stock levels are maintained.Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tool room efficiency and productivity.Required Skills & QualificationsProven experience as a Tool Room Technician or similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Toolmaking.Strong technical skills in tool maintenance, repair, and calibration.Proficiency in reading technical drawings and understanding engineering specifications.Experience with CNC machinery, lathes, mills, and other workshop equipment.Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to workshop environments.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Relevant certifications such as City & Guilds or BTEC in Mechanical Engineering are desirable.Take the Next Step in Your CareerIf you are a dedicated and skilled Tool Room Technician looking to join a reputable company that values innovation and professional growth, we want to hear from you!
