Start date: Immediate StartAbout the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive and forward-thinking school community in Southend-on-Sea. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.As an HLTA, you will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to deliver high-quality support both in and out of the classroom. You will be confident leading whole-class sessions, delivering targeted interventions, and contributing to the planning and assessment of pupil progress.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacherPlan, prepare, and deliver learning activities under teacher guidanceSupport pupils' learning across a range of subjects and abilitiesLead small group interventions to raise attainmentProvide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)Assist with assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil progressPromote positive behaviour and uphold school policiesContribute to creating an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will HaveHLTA status or equivalent qualification (or be working towards it)Previous experience working in a school setting (essential)Strong classroom management skills and confidence leading lessonsExperience supporting SEN pupils xjdpvnf (highly desirable)A good standard of education (GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above minimum)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsA proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting children's learningWhat We OfferA welcoming and inclusive school environmentSupportive leadership and professional development opportunitiesOpportunities for career progression and further trainingA collaborative and friendly staff teamWell-resourced classrooms and facilities
