GLL is looking for a Community Sport Manager to work across our leisure and sport facilities across South Oxfordshire, The Vale of White Horse and West Oxfordshire.Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.The primary role of a Community Sport Manager is to increase participation in sport and leisure activities - reducing health and social inequalities and improving both the physical health and mental wellbeing of people across the region.This is a unique and exciting role, where youll be responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive Community Engagement Plan for our leisure facilities, guided by the following principles:Participation: GLL aims to widen and deepen participation across all our facilities.Reinvestment: GLL is a charitable social enterprise that reinvests surplus into our communities.Access: GLL ensures any barriers to activity in our venues and services are removed.Empowering Communities: GLL connects and empowers communities to improve their physical, social, and mental well-being.As the post-holder will work across three district Councils, were looking for someone with experience in stakeholder management, partner communications and operating within local Councils.Additionally, the Community Sport Managerwill work with several partners, communities, and leisure centre teams to establish pathways of opportunity for individuals and communities to achieve their potential - using physical activity and sport to tackle health improvement and community development.The role also ensures that leisure centres provide:Policies and systems that support customers and colleagues health and well-being while ensuring equality.A choice of products tailored to meet the needs of all audience types.Accessible products and services available at the right time, place, and price. Opportunities for stakeholders and communities to co-design, deliver, and promote services.Engagement with audiences and stakeholders, reinforcing GLLs position as the leading charitable social enterprise in the leisure sector.Investment in our people, local communities, and volunteers to meet local needs.Youll interact with a diverse range of people, including school children, the elderly, and individuals from various religious and ethnic groups. Excellent communication skills are essential to relate effectively to all types of people.While working as part of a wider team, youll be expected to:Manage your own workload and work independently.Be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and confident in delivering presentations.Create and deliver an innovative and effective annual Health and Wellbeing Plan, which has a strategic overview of community delivery and initiatives.As a creative thinker, youll thrive on designing new ways to engage the community and foster participation in leisure activities.Ideally, candidates will hold a degree and have experience in planning and leading community, health, or sport-based activities and programmes.
