The Position An Interim Nurse Manager Inpatient Oncology is needed to provide leadership and operational oversight for a high-acuity hematology and oncology unit with 28 beds. Reporting to the Inpatient Director of Oncology, this leader will oversee a team of 15 FTEs. Key responsibilities include driving quality and process improvement initiatives, stabilizing and developing the care team, strengthening collaboration with physicians and outpatient partners, and ensuring high standards of patient care delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong oncology leadership experience, preferably in an academic setting, with a proven ability to lead transformational change, improve team dynamics, and optimize clinical outcomes. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical. Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance. Requirements BSN required; MSN highly preferred. Active RN license in Virginia or a compact state required. OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required. Progressive nursing leadership experience, with a strong background in inpatient oncology required; academic medical center experience preferred. The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
