Financial Writer (Ghostwriter)Job Type: Full-Time, Direct HireSchedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hoursWork Model: On-site, with potential for hybrid flexibility over timeOverviewA well-established global investment organization is seeking an experienced Financial Writer (Ghostwriter) to support executive-level thought leadership. This role partners closely with senior leadership to develop externally facing opinion and perspective pieces for prominent publications across North America and international markets.The ideal candidate brings a strong op-ed writing background, comfort working in fast-paced editorial cycles, and an interest in financial markets or economic topics.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop original, externally focused opinion and thought-leadership articles on financial and economic topics.Write and refine content for placement in major business, financial, and news publications.Produce multiple high-quality pieces per month while meeting editorial deadlines.Draft content from concept to completion, as well as adapt existing material for different audiences or outlets.Collaborate with internal partners to support research, topic development, and message alignment.Participate in idea generation sessions with senior stakeholders.Ensure all writing reflects the firm's perspectives, tone, and editorial standards.Support a global content strategy, coordinating with internal review teams prior to publication.Editorial ProcessWork closely with editors who provide structured feedback throughout the review process.Partner with executive stakeholders for final approvals.Published pieces typically follow a multi-step review timeline prior to external release.International distribution and localization are handled internally.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.Minimum 2+ years of ghostwriting experience, preferably in an op-ed or thought-leadership format.Demonstrated ability to write for senior or executive-level audiences.Strong portfolio including 2-3 published op-ed or opinion samplesExcellent writing, editing, and time-management skills.Preferred QualificationsBackground in financial services, capital markets, economics, or business journalism.Experience translating complex concepts into clear, engaging narratives.Familiarity with fast-turn editorial environments.CompensationCompetitive base salary with bonus opportunity.Total compensation aligned with market benchmarks for senior financial writing roles.BenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.Retirement savings plan with employer contribution.Generous paid time off and company holidays.Family-focused programs and wellness offerings.Additional benefits available based on tenure and role eligibility.
