Location: Williamsport, MD Department: Dot Transportation - GarageReports To: Director of TransportationSalary Grade: $72,962 to $109,444, annually plus bonus opportunityLead and supervise all garage staff and all day-to-day activities associated with the maintenance, repair, and fueling of all trailer/reefer equipment in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Oversee completion of work while implementing and prioritizing workload of garage staff.WHAT YOU'LL DOEnsure all preventive maintenance policies and procedures on all tractors, trailers and reefer equipment is performed properly and in a cost-efficient manner.Driver and warehouse communication on all issues related to garage responsibilitiesMaintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standardsMaintain awareness and compliance with all current local, state, and federal regulations such as all regulations governing the handling and disposal of hazardous wasteLeads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.YOU MUST HAVEHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum 3 years supervisory or management experienceDemonstrated ability to safely and productively operate shop equipmentSufficient vision and hearing necessary to operate powered equipment safelyAbility to lift over 25 pounds as neededYOU MAY ALSO HAVECollege or technical degreeEffective communication skillsROLE SPECIFICSTravel- Occasional overnight travel to other company facilities or outside facilities for training.
