Our client is a fast-growing mechanical and plumbing subcontractor specializing in HVAC, ductwork, sheet metal, plumbing, and general contracting based in Altadena, CA. We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator who can hit the ground running.The ideal candidate is someone who brings existing relationships with GCs and owners, understands how to find and win work, and can operate portals, download plans, and manage a pipeline end to end.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate, competitive estimates for mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC projectsAccess project portals (GCP, daily portals) to download plans and identify bid opportunitiesBuild and maintain relationships with general contractors and project ownersFollow up on leads, track bid results, and refine pricing strategy over timeCollaborate with project managers and field operations to ensure estimate-to-actual alignmentSupport business development efforts by leveraging your existing GC and owner contactsIdentify private sector opportunities in commercial, multi-family, industrial, and institutional marketsQualifications3+ years of estimating experience in mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing constructionProven private sector project experience; commercial, multi-family, warehouses, facilities, or schoolsExisting relationships with GCs and/or facility owners that can be activated immediatelyProficiency with estimating software and project portalsAbility to read and interpret construction plans and specificationsStrong communication and follow-through skillsResidential-only experience is not a fit for this roleCompensationBase salary: $90,000 - $115,000 depending on experienceIn office Monday-FridayPocketbook Agency is acting solely as a recruiting and placement firm for this position and is not the employer of record for this role unless otherwise explicitly stated.
