C2's client, a mission-driven organization providing marketing, operations, and customer experience for a national industry association, seeks a contract Marketing Copywriter to support their team during a planned coverage period. This role exists to maintain the quality, consistency, and velocity of marketing copy across key channels during a critical transition.This is a hands-on, execution-focused role where strong writing fundamentals and the ability to move quickly matter. You'll contribute across email, campaigns, product communications, and web content, ensuring messaging stays sharp, on-brand, and conversion-focused. The work directly supports member engagement and revenue-driving initiatives, so clarity, accuracy, and tone are essential.Strong fit looks like a copywriter who thrives in fast-paced environments, can step in and produce immediately, and understands how to balance speed with quality. If you're someone who can take direction, adapt voice across audiences, and keep projects moving without a lot of hand-holding, you'll do well here.The ideal candidate aligns philosophically with the organizations' missions. This role works closely with partners like gun manufacturers and shooting ranges, and supports members through targeted campaign outreach and community building. You are comfortable working within established brand guidelines while tailoring messaging for different audiences and objectives.You understand how to write for performance, not just prose. Whether it's email, campaign messaging, or product communication, you know how to structure copy that drives engagement and action. You're responsive to feedback, quick to iterate, and able to manage multiple deliverables without losing attention to detail.The right candidate brings a strong sense of ownership to the work, contributing not just output, but momentum to the broader marketing team.Responsibilities:Write and edit clear, compelling, on-brand marketing copy across channels including email, campaigns, product communications, and web contentCollaborate with marketing, design, and channel partners to meet deadlines and support campaign executionAdapt messaging for different audiences while maintaining consistency in brand voice and toneIncorporate feedback quickly and iterate on copy as neededSupport campaign launches and ongoing marketing initiativesHelp maintain production flow and reduce bottlenecks within the marketing teamRequirements:3+ years of marketing copywriting experience (agency or in-house)Philosophical alignment with the organizations' missions and target audience; comfort working with partners like gun manufacturers and shooting rangesProven ability to write conversion-focused copyStrong understanding of brand voice, tone, and messaging consistencyExperience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsExcellent written communication and editing skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyNice to Have:Experience in subscription, membership, or direct-response marketingFamiliarity with firearms, personal safety, or adjacent industriesExperience collaborating with cross-functional marketing teamsComfortable working within established brand guidelinesNot your type of gig, but know someone who would be interested?
