Risk ManagerLocation: Roslyn, NYEmployment Type: PermanentCompensation: Up to $150,000Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Risk Manager to oversee all aspects of insurance, loss control, and enterprise risk management for a growing organization with both construction and property management operations. This role will be responsible for developing and executing risk strategies, managing insurance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance & Risk TransferNegotiate premiums and place coverage across all major insurance lines, including General Liability/Umbrella, Property, Auto, Builders' Risk, and Workers' CompensationDevelop and manage project-specific insurance programs, including OCIP and CCIP structuresOversee employment practices liability and self-insured risk programsSupport the development of a captive insurance strategyPartner with internal teams to provide certificates of insurance and coverage documentation for project closingsWork closely with development teams to ensure appropriate coverage throughout project lifecyclesLoss Control & Safety ManagementImplement and manage company-wide loss control strategies across construction and property management operationsConduct site visits independently and in collaboration with insurance carriersEstablish and enforce organization-wide safety and security standardsDevelop and maintain policies and procedures for property management and field teamsCollaborate with security teams to enhance and enforce safety protocolsDraft and implement Health and Safety Plans (HASP) for construction projectsManage company-wide safety training programsTrack and analyze risk data to support loss prevention and mitigation effortsOversee and maintain the organization's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programAdministrative & ComplianceManage incident reporting systems and ensure accurate documentation and follow-upOversee vendor qualification programs and maintain master vendor agreementsReview and approve subcontractor insurance coverage in coordination with carriersUpdate and maintain trade contractor agreements as neededMaintain and analyze risk-related data to support continuous improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related field preferred7+ years of experience in risk management, insurance, or a related fieldStrong knowledge of construction and property management risk exposureExperience with OCIP/CCIP programs and complex insurance placementsFamiliarity with captive insurance structures is a plusProven ability to develop and implement safety and risk mitigation programsStrong analytical, negotiation, and communication skillsWhy This OpportunityHigh-impact role with visibility across multiple business linesOpportunity to build and enhance enterprise-wide risk strategiesCompetitive compensation and long-term growth potentialCollaborative environment working closely with executive leadership and development teams
