Acoust-A-Fiber s a high-volume manufacturer using a wide range of materials such as fiberglass, foam, cast PUR foam, resonated cotton, PET felt, aluminized steel, stainless steel, aluminum, E-glass and a combination of material for diverse applications. We produce Heat shields, hood liners, dashboards and tunnels for Stellantis, Toyota, Honda, GMC, Ford and others.The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the continuous improvement of automotive manufacturing processes, systems, and equipment. This role applies advanced engineering principles to support high-volume automotive production, focusing on safety, quality, cost, and efficiency. The position requires professional-level engineering judgment.•Design, develop, and optimize automotive manufacturing processes including assembly, machining, stamping, welding, and/or automated production systems •Apply mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering principles to improve throughput, cycle time, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and lower manufacturing costs •Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Work Instructions, and Standardized Work in compliance with automotive standards Support new product introductions (NPI) including process design, tooling validation, line layout, and production ramp-up •Specify, evaluate, and implement automation, robotics, fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing equipment for automotive production lines Perform engineering analysis and root cause investigations for process deviations, scrap, and quality concerns; implement corrective and preventive actions •Ensure manufacturing processes comply with IATF 16949, ISO standards, safety regulations, and OEM customer requirements Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering teams Interface with equipment suppliers, integrators, and automotive OEM or Tier 1 customers on technical manufacturing requirements •Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior manufacturing engineers Support cost-reduction, capacity expansion, and productivity improvement projects through data-driven engineering solutionsBachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline) 2-5+ years of professional manufacturing engineering experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience applying engineering theory, calculations, and analysis to automotive manufacturing systems •Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and quality systems•Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies Ability to independently analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing processesEngineer must have a flexible schedule to support projects and production including off shifts.
