Materials Manager - Automotive Manufacturing (Confidential Search)Location: East Tawas, MIA large 300 employee automotive manufacturing facility is seeking a Materials Manager to lead all materials planning, inventory control, logistics, and customer delivery functions. This role will oversee the full materials flow from supplier scheduling through production support and finished-goods shipment while ensuring strong service levels to automotive OEM and Tier suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all materials planning, scheduling, logistics, and inventory control activities for the plantJust-In-Time FacilityEnsure on-time delivery performance to automotive customers while maintaining optimal inventory levelsManage MRP/ERP systems, production schedules, and supplier releasesOversee shipping, receiving, warehousing, and logistics operationsDevelop and manage a high-performing materials team including planners, buyers, and logistics personnelCollaborate with operations, purchasing, and supply chain leadership to improve throughput and reduce costsDrive continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, lead times, and material flowSAP a plusQualificationsBachelor's degree preferred7+ years of materials / supply chain leadership experience in automotive manufacturingExperience with MRP/ERP systems, production scheduling, and supplier managementStrong understanding of JIT manufacturing and OEM customer requirementsProven ability to lead teams in a large, fast-paced manufacturing environmentThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established automotive supplier where the Materials Manager will play a critical role in supporting plant performance and customer delivery.
