The Lead Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel, equipment, and processes within our renewable energy facilities. You will develop, implement, and oversee safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks associated with renewable energy operations, promoting a culture of safety and compliance. Duties/Responsibilities:Implement and administer a safety program at each worksite for team membersAssist project management team in developing site-specific safety programs and activitiesFormulate, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programsDocument and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.Conduct safety work area auditsConduct project's loss control data/document collection and trend analysesConduct or assist with major incident analysisRecord, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury, and Hazard statisticsCoordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirementsMonitor and review subcontractor activities for safety concernsReview Safety Submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with subcontractorsManage Return to Work and Modified duty assignments.Provide resources of safety related informationEvaluate and offer solutions for industrial hygiene concernsMaintain operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards and proceduresServe as a resource for safety issues or concerns for all project team members/managementAttend and chair safety meetingsInterface with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurance risk engineers, etc.Accompany safety, health, insurance, and OSHA personnel on work-site toursEnsure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and protective wearRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Minimum six years of construction safety experienceDetail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksAbility to work in Microsoft Office and pertinent safety-related software programsProven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies to team members and outside partiesStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsEffective public speaking and presentation skillsCurrent driver's licenseAbility to speak multiple languages is preferred but not required (Spanish, Haitian Creole)Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health or related fieldMinimum five years of construction safety experienceIf no bachelor's degree, high school diploma, CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and a minimum of ten years of construction experience leading crews and planning work, including at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing safety programs, conducting hazard analysis and developing controls, and planning work activities or equivalent experience in a relevant field.The pay range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 per year. Actual compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills.
