Saxe Doernberger & Vita, a national insurance coverage law firm with offices in Trumbull, Connecticut, Naples, Florida and Temecula, California; is seeking a Director of Marketing & Business Developmentwith 5+ years of experience in Marketing and Business Development.SDV is among the elite law firms in the country solely representing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. We advise our clients on all manner of insurance coverage issues including policy placements, renewals, drafting policy language, contractual risk transfer and claims. We also litigate coverage disputes between our clients and insurance carriers.The Director of Marketing & Business Development is responsible for preparing and overseeing the execution of the firm's marketing and business development goals and supporting the firm's plan for strategic growth while ensuring the presentation of a positive firm image. This position directs all interaction with and the management of teams, oversees projects and processes, interfaces with the firm's attorneys, and serves as liaison to other departments and staff across the firm. This position also entails working directly with clients, prospects, and referrals.Key Responsibilities:This is a leadership position reporting directly to the Management Committee and the firm's Chief Operating Officer. Primary responsibilities include:1.Idea generation and implementation of marketing campaigns and business development strategies. A. Develops and facilitates annual M/BD plans, firmwide as well as for individual attorneys; B. Develops brand objectives and sets benchmarks that facilitate firm growth; C. Determines target markets, analyzes competitive intelligence and develops entry strategies.2.Oversees media relations and digital marketing, including: A. The design and content of the firm's website; B. The design of graphics related to the firm's BRIDGE Committee and internal newsletter; C. The firm's social media presence (LinkedIn and Facebook); D. Publication of press releases, articles, webinars, and the firm's bi-weekly emailed newsletter ("eblast"); E. Development, production and distribution of collateral and other promotional materials, advertising and announcements. F. Oversight of the Quality Control ("QC") procedure for all firm-branded presentation materials and publications prior to their use and/or release.3.Oversees the firm's CRM system including the training of all users who interface with the CRM.4.Prepares and analyzes reports to determine ROI based on the allocation of resources, including time and dollars.5.Prepares annual budgets based on strategies developed in conjunction with stakeholders and administers same throughout the year. This entails: A. Reviewing and approving all M/BD related expense reports; B. Reconciling the M/BD budget in live time and reviewing monthly budget reports from the Finance Department; C .Regularly reporting to the Finance Department regarding spending projections; D. Reviewing Attorney BD Requests submitted throughout the year for the use of the firm's discretionary fund allocated for non-Partner M/BD activities and initiatives.6.Oversees the planning and execution of all attorney participation in industry conferences, seminars, and webinars, as well as firm-sponsored M/BD events, including attendee communications, registration management, venue, food/beverage needs, entertainment and the coordination of marketing collateral and educational content, if any.7.Reviews, drafts and executes RFP responses submitted by clients and potential clients.8.Management of the employees: A. on the M/BD department team, including: 1.Professional growth and development, including completion of and participation in annual evaluation process; 2.Hiring, disciplinary measures and terminations. B. on the Executive and Administrative Assistant team, including: 1.Onboarding and trainings related to the M/BD-related administrative responsibilities for this team; 2.Coordination with the Director of Administration regarding performance and execution of the administrative M/BD functions performed by this team.This role is onsite but can be in any of our offices: Trumbull, Connecticut, Naples, Florida, or Temecula, California.
