Acts as Pharmacist In Charge when Pharmacist In Charge is not on the premises. Acts as or supervises the Designated Person for USP 797/800 compliance. Assists in the training of new staff clinical pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. Lead manager for new hire and annual competency training/testing for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. Is also a PIC member and participates in PIC meetings.Reporting RelationshipPharmacist-In-Charge (GM/COO)Scope of SupervisionPharmacists, Pharmacy Technician ManagerResponsibilities include the following:1. Patient advocate responsible for clinical patient assessment and management department compliance.2. Assist in the implementation of plans for the pharmacy growth initiatives.3. Assist in overseeing the pharmacy services of the pharmacy, including monitoring internal pharmacy processes and operations.4. Maintains compliance with USP 797/800 for all cleanroom processes.5. Assist in recruiting, hiring and directing pharmacy staff to ensure that they carry out the goals of the pharmacy.6. Conduct meetings with members of the pharmacy staff at regular intervals.7. Arrange for performance evaluation of direct reports annually; establish annual performance goals, and monitor progress toward these goals on a consistent basis.8. Assist in ensuring ongoing pharmacy compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the pharmacy meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement 'best practices'' in department activities.9. Delegate authority as necessary to ensure that all responsibilities of this position and pharmacy operations are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.10. Perform pharmacist duties as needed (see Pharmacist job description).Minimum Qualifications:1. Ability to organize and plan the activities of subordinates, and to delegate appropriately.2. Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.3. Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.4. Pharmacy Degree and State Licensure.5. Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.6. Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.Education and/or Experience:1. BS or Pharm. D. from an accredited school of pharmacy is required.2. Five years of experience as a licensed pharmacist is required.3. Home Infusion experience preferred.4. Prior pharmacy supervisory/management experience is required.5. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements is required.6.
