A health services organization in New York City is looking to add a new Unit Supervisor to their team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Unit Supervisor will be responsible for building and leading a strong team that provides and coordinates excellent quality care, and healing to children, and ensures that every one of the children on the caseload is living a nurturing, safe, and permanent family as quickly as possible. n.About the **Start ** ASAPAssignment ***** Contract***** Monday to Friday***** 9am to 5pm***** Special Family Foster Care (SFFC) program***** Connections and NextGen**The Unit Supervisor will *Providing coaching and support to staff to reinforce quality case practice with the future use of an evidence-based model. Responsible for completing and submitting staff evaluations; resolve and address staff issues; participate in hiring, disciplinary actions.Providing formal and informal supportive, programmatic and clinical supervision to each team member; holds formal individual supervision weekly and team meetings on a monthly basis.Holding staff accountable for strong performance.Ensuring appropriate record-keeping including supervisory recordsResponding to case emergencies (after hours when necessary).Ensuring the safety and well-being of children.When necessary, conduct home visits, school visits, and attend court hearings.Attend internal and external training and apply newly gained knowledge in providing service.Reviewing all Progress Notes, Court Reports, correspondence and other documentation, ensuring quality and timely submission.Performing other duties, as needed*Masters Degree Required.Certifications ** MSW, LMSW, or LMHCMust have 2 years work experience in Foster CareExperience in child welfare/case management strongly preferred.Must maintain a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through professional experience.Ability to teach, train, and coach team membersAbility to work flexible hours - some evenings to support staff needsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work under stress or in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.
