The Highway 58 Herald, based in Oakridge, Oregon, is a nonprofit news organization serving the seven rural communities along the Highway 58 corridor. The focus for acquiring advertising and sponsorship commitments will be directed toward the neighboring Eugene/Springfield metropolitan area. ResponsibilitiesThe Highway 58 Herald is hiring an outside sales rep to sell advertising and content sponsorships for our rural, nonprofit online news and information platform. The selected candidate will contact businesses within a 50-mile radius to obtain commitments to advertise and/or sponsor available news and story categories. QualificationsThe selected candidate will provide evidence of successful previous outside salesMust be well spoken and congenialSelf-starter who can work independently and unsupervisedStrong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing client informationSees themselves as "closers"Reliable transportationA degree in marketing is preferred but not required.CompensationSales representative will earn a percentage of each commitment sold.
