These four entities are:Forestry & Utility DivisionEnvironmental DivisionTechnology & Innovation DivisionSustainability DivisionJOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a Water Resource Project Manager to lead and grow our Watershed Planning and Engineering Design Team. This is more than managing budgets and schedules - it's an opportunity to shape the future of a member-owned environmental group restoring ecosystems and building resilient infrastructure across the Midwest and beyond.This role blends technical leadership, team development, and client strategy - with a seat at the table as we expand our regional footprint and service lines.Department-specific responsibilities: This Water Resources Professional position will lead the Watershed Planning and Engineering Design Team by supporting a growing group of engineers and technicians, and environmental scientists experienced in stream, riparian, and wetland restoration, mitigation banking, green infrastructure, general stormwater management, survey, environmental engineering, civil engineering, and hydraulic and hydrologic analysis. Familiarity with stream geomorphology, functions and values of wetlands, and water quality and quantity issues in the Midwest is highly desirable. This position will primarily provide direction and oversight of project managers but may occasionally serve as Project Manager on larger projects. In addition to being a team leader, this position will identify and spearhead business development opportunities in the Midwest and provide support for business development in environmental engineering throughout the company.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions:Project Management & LeadershipManage and expand water resources projects - stream restoration, constructed wetlands, H&H modeling, green infrastructure, mitigation banking, and more.Mentor and support staff to promote technical development, collaboration and professional growth.Collaborate with leadership on workload forecasting, team development initiatives, and service area growth.Ensure successful project delivery - including schedule, budget, QA/QC, and technical direction.Provide mentorship to junior project managers Assist with preparing comprehensive training programs and providing training to staff Lead multidisciplinary teams of professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projectsIndependently manage client relationships, budgets, schedules, and project resourcesTrack and manage project deliverablesInteract and coordinate with various clientele, federal, state, local, and tribal agenciesSupport, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright's and Eocene Environmental Group's culture of safety and employee ownershipBusiness Development Work with Eocene Environmental Division Business Development Group to:Develop and maintain strong client relationships, lead proposal efforts, and support strategic pursuits.Lead or support marketing and scoping project work, including development of fee estimates and strategic pursuits / high-level of effort proposals.Identify and pursue water resource-specific, design, engineering, and construction observation project opportunities.Attend and present at industry events to promote project and staff expertise and increase exposure of Eocene's Environmental Division.Contact and meet with prospective and current clients, establish lines of communication for follow-up. Assist with participation and preparation of new business presentations.Review and approve formal proposals in response to Requests For Proposals (RFP).Attend regional conferences Assist with proposal submissions and contract startups Regional ManagementPerform Quality Assurance/Quality Control visits with clients per the QA/QC procedure to ensure regions within the Environmental Division meet monthly client expectations Meet and collaborate with other Eocene divisions.Ability to travel throughout designated territory and to Wright Service Corp. headquarters in West Des Moines, Iowa when required. Project Manager IV is expected to perform all other internal and external duties as required or assigned while maintaining a billability goal of 45%.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Qualifications and Experience:Professional Engineering License in Environmental or Civil EngineeringFour (4)-year degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fieldLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Iowa (or eligible in the near term); licensure in other states a plus.10+ years in water resources, environmental, ecological engineering (or similar experience).Demonstrated success leading complex, interdisciplinary projects and teams.Technical experience with including but not limited to H&H modeling, stream/wetland restoration, mitigation banking, permitting, and related areas.Experience developing project scopes and fees, particularly for public funding programs including green infrastructure, water quantity and quality projects.A strategic growth-minded approach with strong written, verbal, and mentoring skills.Valid state issued driver's licenseKnowledge of all applicable industry safety rules and regulationsKnowledge of relevant Federal and State regulationsPreferred Qualifications and Experience:National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) record holderFamiliarity with typical water resource projectsExperience using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, and AutoDesk software, including Civil3D and AutoCADA minimum of four (4) years of experience in the professional services industryPrevious managerial experienceFinancial training and/or certificationsProject management training and/or certificationsCompletion of Iowa DNR Level 1 and Level 2 Iowa River Restoration Toolbox trainingFamiliarity with Section 404 and floodplain permittingMust reside in the appropriate region of the country.
