This is more than managing budgets and schedules - it's an opportunity to shape the future of a member-owned environmental group restoring ecosystems and building resilient infrastructure across the Midwest and beyond.This role blends technical leadership, team development, and client strategy - with a seat at the table as we expand our regional footprint and service lines.Department-specific responsibilities: This Water Resources Professional position will lead the Watershed Planning and Engineering Design Team by supporting a growing group of engineers and technicians, and environmental scientists experienced in stream, riparian, and wetland restoration, mitigation banking, green infrastructure, general stormwater management, survey, environmental engineering, civil engineering, and hydraulic and hydrologic analysis. Familiarity with stream geomorphology, functions and values of wetlands, and water quality and quantity issues in the Midwest is highly desirable. This position will primarily provide direction and oversight of project managers but may occasionally serve as Project Manager on larger projects. Project Manager IV is expected to perform all other internal and external duties as required or assigned while maintaining a billability goal of 45%.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Qualifications and Experience:Professional Engineering License in Environmental or Civil EngineeringFour (4)-year degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fieldLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Iowa (or eligible in the near term); licensure in other states a plus.10+ years in water resources, environmental, ecological engineering (or similar experience).Demonstrated success leading complex, interdisciplinary projects and teams.Technical experience with including but not limited to H&H modeling, stream/wetland restoration, mitigation banking, permitting, and related areas.Experience developing project scopes and fees, particularly for public funding programs including green infrastructure, water quantity and quality projects.A strategic growth-minded approach with strong written, verbal, and mentoring skills.Valid state issued driver's licenseKnowledge of all applicable industry safety rules and regulationsKnowledge of relevant Federal and State regulationsPreferred Qualifications and Experience:National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) record holderFamiliarity with typical water resource projectsExperience using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, and AutoDesk software, including Civil3D and AutoCADA minimum of four (4) years of experience in the professional services industryPrevious managerial experienceFinancial training and/or certificationsProject management training and/or certificationsCompletion of Iowa DNR Level 1 and Level 2 Iowa River Restoration Toolbox trainingFamiliarity with Section 404 and floodplain permittingMust reside in the appropriate region of the country.
