Job ***** Toolmaker - CNC Machinist** Bethel, CT 6801Contract * 3-Month ContractPay * $40/hourWork * Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PMJob *Belcan is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for a 3-month contract position in Bethel, CT. The successful candidate will support both the Manufacturing and Engineering departments by fabricating precision production and prototype components, tools, and fixtures. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with strong machining experience, mechanical aptitude, and a background in toolmaking.Key *Manufacture complex tooling and fixtures in collaboration with Manufacturing and Design Engineering teamsCreate and validate CNC programs using Proto-Trak systemsSet up and operate manual machining equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, and shearsOperate CNC lathes and mills (2-axis) in both prototype and production environmentsOperate and maintain surface grinding machinesDevelop, fabricate, and sharpen cutting and specialty toolsPerform inspections of GD&T features using basic and advanced measurement tools and techniquesConduct cut-open unit operations for production processesAssist shop leadership in training personnel on machining practices and internal proceduresPerform other duties as assigned*High school diploma or GED from an accredited institutionMinimum of 5 years of experience as a Toolmaker or equivalent tradeHigh mechanical aptitude and strong proficiency in trigonometrySolid understanding of chip formation and metal cutting mechanicsFamiliarity with ANSI/EIA RS-274 ("˜G' code NC programs)Working knowledge of computers and CAD systemsMust reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Bethel, CT**Associate Degree in a technical fieldFormal training or experience in design/drafting with CAD emphasis.
