This role will serve as the primary project manager responsible for executing $15–$20 million in plant modifications over the next 18 months. Projects will include construction of new mezzanines, installation of high-pressure reactors, hot oil systems, chillers, cooling towers, and bulk material automation systems.The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of plant operations, strong project management skills, and prior experience overseeing large-scale installations in a chemical manufacturing environment. This is a high-impact role with potential to transition into Manager of Maintenance and Engineering upon successful project completion.Five Must-Haves:Serve as the on-site project manager for all capital improvement initiatives across the St. Louis plant.Oversee installation of major process equipment including high-pressure reactors, hot oil systems, chillers, cooling towers, and automation systems.Manage external contractors, equipment suppliers, and construction timelines to ensure delivery on time and within budget.Track and control project budgets, schedules, installation logistics, and safety protocols.Develop deep knowledge of Chemline’s plant layout, processes, and operational systems to ensure seamless integration of upgrades.Other Duties/Responsibilities:Coordinate with internal teams across operations, maintenance, and EH&S to minimize downtime and ensure compliance.Monitor equipment lead times and manage order tracking and delivery schedules.Maintain detailed project documentation and provide regular status updates to senior leadership.Support commissioning, testing, and start-up of new equipment and systems.Upon completion of capital projects, assume leadership of the Maintenance and Engineering departments.Skills and Competencies:Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-million-dollar plant projects from planning through execution.Exceptional knowledge of chemical plant infrastructure, process systems, and utilities.Strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and trades.Proficiency in budgeting, scheduling software, and project management tools.Comfortable working hands-on in an industrial environment with active construction.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (required).7–15 years of progressive experience in chemical plant engineering or capital project management.Previous leadership or management experience in maintenance or engineering functions strongly preferred.Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
