This full-cycle build is situated near the shoreline, necessitating expertise in water table conditions, public sector compliance, and coordination with government agencies.About the RoleThis is a construction management position focused on planning, execution, compliance, and field delivery. Ideal candidates will bring deep experience in coastal infrastructure projects and public works.ResponsibilitiesDirect day-to-day site operations from pre-construction through closeout, including scheduling, coordination, and subcontractor management.Lead water table mitigation strategies and foundation planning for a coastal construction site.Oversee regulatory compliance, ensuring all activities meet NYC codes, coastal requirements, and permitting standards.Serve as the primary point of contact for public agencies, including the Department of Development and Construction (DDC), the Department of Buildings (DOB), the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and other regulatory bodies.Manage procurement, submittals, RFIs, safety protocols, and quality assurance in line with NYC public project standards.Maintain updated construction schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.Monitor budgets, approve change orders, and maintain detailed progress reports.Enforce site safety, environmental protections, and community coordination efforts throughout the project lifecycle.Qualifications** Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 7–10 years in vertical construction project management, including at least 3 years with municipal or coastal projects.Required SkillsGovernment Project ** Experience with the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is strongly preferred. Familiarity with city agency coordination, including DOB, DEP, and other local and state regulatory bodies.Technical **** Ground-up construction in coastal/flood-prone areas. Deep understanding of water table management and soil conditions near marine environments. Proficiency in project management platforms (Procore, Primavera, MS Project, Bluebeam).
