Service Advisor / Writer – Heavy Equipment?***** Elmhurst, IL | Full-TimeIN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently hiring a Service Advisor / Writer on behalf of a well-established and reputable client in Elmhurst, IL.Since 1969, our client has been a trusted provider of environmental equipment solutions for municipalities and private industry—offering top-tier new and rebuilt trucks, parts, accessories, and service with a customer-first approach.As a Service Advisor / Writer, you’ll be a key front-line representative of the service department, building strong relationships with customers and ensuring service operations run smoothly. You’ll play a critical role in the customer experience, from intake and inspections to updates and service closure.What You’ll Be **Serve as the main point of contact for service customers—documenting equipment issues and verifying informationOpen and manage repair orders in the system; obtain proper authorizations and signaturesCoordinate with the Shop Foreman to manage workflow and status updatesPerform daily walkarounds of the equipment yard to visually confirm asset statusKeep customers informed on service progress and any changes to estimates or repair needsAccurately explain cost and timing of work being performedAnswer inbound calls and provide updates on work in progressEnsure timely work order closure and maintain organized documentationCollaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless serviceWhat You *3+ years of experience in equipment or automotive serviceStrong customer service and communication skillsDetail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office and other digital tools (CDK or similar systems is an asset)Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, service-driven environmentHigh School Diploma required; College education preferredValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordAble to pass a pre-employment background checkPerks & *Competitive annual ** $48,500 – $70,000 (And open to hearing from optimally qualified candidates outside this range)Paid Time Off + Holiday PayHealth & Life Insurance401(k) plan with company matchEmployee referral programPaid professional developmentCompany events & team-building activitiesSafety-focused workplace culture?Be part of a growing organization that’s been putting customers first for over 50 years!?
