Pay-$18.10-$19.25/HRSchedule- 12 hour shifts working 3 days one week and 4 the next with alternating weekendsJOB SUMMARY:Safely ensures that cups are correctly packaged and packed in KD’s (boxes) and placed on conveyor, according to customer specifications and quality standards. Duties also include: cup inspection, ensuring correct cup count, preparation of KD’s (boxes), housekeeping of the pack station area, ensures automated packing tasks are completed appropriately while working in a safe manner by obeying all safety rules. Understand and align business operations through execution of the role, exceeding customer expectations and aligning with GPI’s business, cultural, financial, and operational objectives.WORK DEVICE:Cases, KDs, poly bags, broom, bag tape, jam removal rods, cups, KD labels, saw tooth cup counter, waste containers, stamper, recycle containers, KD stands, work table, ink and ink pads, brush, air hose, bag taper, compressed air guns, production sheets, case erector, labeler, printer, auto bagger, diverter, round sheets.EDUCATION PREFERRED:High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:Inspects cups prior to being placed in KD (boxes) Places the full case onto the conveyor so that it can move to the QAC station for final inspectionOpens and positions new KD on KD standStamps and numbers all required information on KD’s for manual pack stationsEnsures that correct information is printed on KD’s and is legible Obtains new film as neededEnsures labeler is kept clean at all timesOperates case erector which includes loading appropriate KD’s and ensuring a smooth transition on change oversCleans seal bar on auto baggers as needed Starts, stops, clears, and safely operates auto baggers and case erectors, including film, kd, label and ink loadingSegregates spoilage and recyclable items and places in appropriate paper containersRemoves jammed product (cups) from the auto baggers and case erectors Notifies Shift Supervisor or Group Leader of any problems that arise that are beyond the scope of the Packer’s duties including: product quality, excessive spoilage, mechanical problems, shortage of necessary supplies and material handling problemsRelieves other Utility Packers during break and lunch periods Assists personnel (i.e. Quality) during product design change overs Maintains ink printers which includes purging printer ink and cleaning printer heads At shift change, ensures that clock number and shift are changed on ink jet labeler Records and maintains correct tally of productionLoad blanks on to ink jet labeler machine and load labeled blanks in to blank cartsEXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:1-2 years previous manufacturing experience preferredWell-developed communications and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a high paced and multi-taking environmentMaintains positive team environmentDemonstrated organizational skills and highly detail orientedSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionAbility to follow verbal and written instructionAbility to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation.
