Find your future with us.Lead Spacecraft Payload DSP Engineer – Millennium Space Systems Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Lead Spacecraft Payload DSP Engineer to support the Engineering team in El Segundo, CA!Job SummaryAs a Lead Spacecraft Payload DSP Engineer, you will design and develop state-of-the art, space-based communication systems and RF payloads for our customers. This includes communications systems to link our satellites to each other and to ground stations as well as perform critical missions on-orbit. You will need to work in a team-based environment to work on the unique challenges of developing flexible RF subsystems for small spacecraft on demanding timelines.This position's internal job code is Elect Design & Analysis Engr. Our team is currently hiring for level 2.Position Responsibilities:Leading space vehicle mission trade studies related to on-board signal processing for RF and other payloadsIdentify & define digital signal processing requirementsDeveloping and verifying multi-rate, fixed- and floating-point signal processing algorithmsPerform make/buy trades on signal processing technologiesDeveloping performance and/or link budgetsCollaborating with teammates across multiple disciplines to design, build, test and deliver spacecraft communication products for multiple programsDevelop Millennium's own communications and payload technologies from concept to flight readinessCreate subsystem manufacturing, integration, and verification documentsLeading subsystem manufacturing, integration, and verificationOperate payload systems on orbitOther duties as assignedThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering3-5 years of experience with digital communication system design, analysis, subsystem component selection, and system evaluationExperience estimating resource requirements on either/both FPGA and general purpose processors for implementing a digital signal processing chain for use in a digital communication subsystemFamiliarity with hardware description languages (HDLs) such as VHDL, Verilog and SystemVerilogProficient with programming languages such as Python, C++ and/or MATLABStrong bias for getting things done with collaboration but minimal regimentation in a new emerging aerospace environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
