We’re also one of the few Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation with providers who specialize in primary care for LGBTQ people and with a research team working to advance the care and treatment of people in our community.JOB SUMMARY: The Associate Manager, Clinical Nursing (LVN) provides leadership and oversight for Medical Assistant staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, managing clinical operations, maintaining adequate staffing and supplies, and supporting staff development. The position oversees quality improvement efforts, participates in audits and policy development, and collaborates with other Health Services leaders to maintain a positive clinical environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSLeadership & OversightProvide direction and guidance to Medical AssistantsCollaborate with Health Services leadership to align nursing programs with patient care and regulatory standardsEnsure adequate staffing levels and clinical coverage to meet care and compliance needsOversee supply management related to patient care, including ordering and inventory of medications, equipment, and suppliesMaintain a positive clinical environment in partnership with supervisors and other managersStaff Management & DevelopmentLead human resources functions for direct reports, including performance feedback and evaluationsDevelop and implement staff training to meet continuing education, contract, and team development goalsEnsure clinical staff practice within defined scopes of practiceConduct or participate in regular team meetings to support communication and staff engagementQuality & ComplianceProvide Quality Management oversight across Health Services divisions and applicable Center areasParticipate in the Quality Risk Management Committee and ensure timely monitoring and reportingContribute to or lead special project teams to address quality or operational concernsParticipate in audits and support preparation of corrective action plansEnsure policies and procedures comply with regulatory, licensure, and contractual standardsPolicy & Procedure ManagementParticipate in Nursing Unit Level Policy and Procedure Committee to maintain current documentationEnsure staff understand and adhere to updated policies and proceduresMaintain documentation to ensure compliance with Center policies and external requirementsOrganizational EngagementAttend Center and Health Services meetings as requiredPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of or experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ peopleA passion for the Center’s work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ peopleCurrent California LVN license requiredCurrent AHA CPR certificationMinimum of three years of experience in direct patient care, preferably in an ambulatory care settingExperience in outpatient nursing management preferredWorking knowledge of infectious diseases, e.g., HIV/AIDS, STIs, and state/ federal reporting requirementsBasic working knowledge of care coordination and navigation throughout the managed care process i.e., prior authorization, specialty care coordination, patient assistance programStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Office, Electronic Health Records, and other software systemsAbility to be self-motivated and dedicated to initiating and completing complex tasksAbility to handle multiple tasks, be detailed oriented, and maintain strict confidentiality of medical informationAble to work well independently with minimum supervisionBilingual skills, a plus (English/Spanish fluency preferred)Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration status, and physical abilities in a multicultural environmentThe Los Angeles LGBT Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering diversity within its staff.
