Process Engineering: Determine the most efficient manufacturing sequence, including tool selection, spindle speeds, and feed rates to maximize tool life and part finish. Fixturing and Workholding: Design and develop custom fixture layouts and setups to secure workpieces during horizontal machining cycles. Blueprints and GD&T: Interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure all components meet tight tolerances (often down to .0005). Program Prove-Out: Conduct dry runs and test operations to "validate" new programs, making manual adjustments at the machine controller (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens) to ensure accuracy.
