We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join a pioneering project developing a state-of-the-art center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. This unique facility will integrate research and manufacturing to create innovative solutions aimed at optimizing manufacturing processes, expanding capacity for clinical trial medicines, and reducing costs and environmental impact.As part of the Global Process Automation & Control Engineering (GPACE) team, you will initially support the design and delivery phases of this transformative project. Once the facility nears completion, this role will transition to a long-term operational support position at the site.Key Responsibilities:Promote safety by working proactively to improve both personnel and equipment safety.Lead and contribute to automation technology projects across multiple platforms.Provide technical leadership in automation and control disciplines, including management of tools, engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.Support project teams during conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering phases to ensure automation designs meet requirements, optimize life cycle costs, and minimize complexity.Lead or support automation design and delivery for new manufacturing sites, including integration with IT platforms, process development, and system architectures.Oversee and guide contingent or contract workers involved in project deliverables.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) or related scientific field.Minimum of 6 years’ experience in automation engineering.Demonstrated experience with the Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) platform.Solid understanding of ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards/principles.Proven technical leadership in automation project delivery.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with drug substance manufacturing processes, particularly batch manufacturing, is strongly preferred.Background in pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environments.Familiarity with validated systems and regulatory compliance.Experience with DeltaV Live and other DCS or PLC platforms beyond DeltaV.Strong problem-solving abilities specific to automation technologies.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
