That's why we give you a wide range of benefits to choose from. Medical, Dental, Vision low-cost premiums even for family coverageCompany-paid life/AD&D insuranceCompany-paid short-term disabilityPaid sick/vacation/holiday401k/Company Funded Pension Program (program is dependent upon location and job type)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Additional voluntary benefits Compensation$140k - $165k/year DOEResponsibilitiesEvaluate process conditions, provide analysis, and coordinate the implementation of process improvements in the cement plants and other processesTake field measurements, compile process information, perform literature research, and provide data analysis and reportingAssist with improving process control, product quality, and efficiencies in the manufacturing processAssist the Energy Management Team with identifying and implementing energy efficiency projectsAssist and develop projects that will help Calportland towards the TCC and California CO2 emission goalsReview new capital project equipment and process designDesign new plant process equipment to optimize plant performance and achieve project objectivesEvaluate plant emissions and develop solutions to comply with regulationsIdentify problem areas and work with plant personnel, engineering, and environmental staff to design and implement solutionsWork with automation and control systems and, if required, assist with software and graphics development.  Assist with new process area system start-up and commissioningManage capital improvement projects as assignedEnsure a safe work environment in the execution of all duties and activitiesEducationBachelor of Science degree in chemical, mechanical, or equivalent engineeringRequirements/QualificationsMinimum of 7 years of experience in cement manufacturingWill be required to travel to company facilities and other locationsMust be a self-starter and be able to work independentlyMust be able to work cooperatively with plant and corporate personnelMust have the ability to multi-task with competing prioritiesMust have excellent communication and interpersonal skillsWill be required to lead meetings, maintain records, develop reports, and make presentationsMust have above-average mathematical abilitiesPreferred:Familiarity with Expert control system, Process control, Emission control and PID tuningConditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
