This position will be a contract and on-site and 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm).This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.What You'll DoThe Assembly Operator I is responsible for component assemblyThis role may require use of microscope, small hand tools, and fitting components into fixturesPolish and test fiber optic cablesAssemble and package fiber optic connector components.Terminate single and multi-fiber cablesInspect own work using quality standards and work instructions.Conduct tests as needed for particular operationsMeasure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices.Inspect product to printComplete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of productMay troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipmentGeneral housekeeping of work areaFollow company and department guidelines, procedures and policiesFollow safety guidelinesPerform all other work-related duties as assignedRead and perform tasks according to drawingsRecognize common fiber connectorsKnowledge of cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assemblyWhat You'll NeedRequired:High School Diploma or GED RequiredPreferred:Minimum one year manufacturing experience preferredExperience with manufacturing fiber cables preferredSAP Manufacturing & ISO 9001 experience is preferredWorking knowledge of hand tools and blueprint reading.Available to work overtime to support production goals as neededPhysical Demands:"¯ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards Occasional sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc. Regularly required to: Operate MachineryPush, pull squat, bend and reach Lift a minimum of 50 pounds The pay for this position is $19.37 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will include medical coverage as well as 401k retirement account access.
